Night at the O2

Smart night out

Awards season is in full flow and we headed off to deepest, darkest London on a thing called “the underground” to a large white circular building called the O2. It was all very big and exciting and we were there for the Smarta 100 Awards.

The reason? Well we’d been voted as one of the top 100 exciting, innovative and disruptive small business businesses in our great nation. An honour indeed.

So how was it? Well it was a great night with free booze, nice nibbles and some other like-minded souls. The Neon Play representatives that night were our CEO Oli Christie and our CTO Mark Allen. And look who we bumped into...none other than Dragon’s Den legend Deborah Meaden.

She was a nice as pie and much more friendly than she appears on the telly, when she’s sometimes a little bit on the blunt and rude side. But we had a good chat with her and she gave us some good business advice that we have heeded.

There was also a nice team from Navy Blur there, who are a very cool couple who take fun photos (in fact you take them yourself with a remote control).
